Happy 60th Anniversay!

Mamaw and Grandpa Lawrence celebrated 60 years of marriage this week. They are a great example of what a Godly marriage is about. They have been there for each other while Grandpa was away at war (before they married), when they moved to Michigan to make a better life for their four children and came back to Arkansas to be with family, they have 10 grandchildren and currently have 11 great-grandchildren. I have honestly never met a nicer or more self-less couple.
Happy Anniversary!!! 75 years isn't that far away now!

Caution - Men and Children at Work

The land for the new auction/retail lot is finally ours!

Work has begun. Builder are building the shops first so dirt work had to be done to make a pad for each one to rest on.

First Uncle Kirk loads up Daddy's dump truck and the load of dirt is carried to Nana and Papaw's land (they own 5 acres, the company owns 35).

It was sooooo cold that day, Ben had to stay in the warm van with Mommy and just watch the action. This is a very small truck but Uncle Kirk, Ty, Griffin, Madisyn and Daddy all managed to squeeze in.

Madisyn wanted to drive the dump truck so bad. She didn't actually get to but Daddy let her rev the engine so the bed would dump.

I think they made over 50 loads to get the pad started and that was for the smaller shop!

Work in Progress

We've been cloth diapering for over a year now. Ben wears wool covers at night as wool breathes much better than other waterproof covers. I have been wanting to get him a pair of wool longies. Wool can be lanolized and it becomes waterproof. Longies are pants that can be worn as pants or under other pants. Since I had several hours of riding in the car, I started knitting a pair. Each half is knitted and then sewn together. I messed up a few times following the pattern making the other side match should be interesting.

Here is the beginning.

Sleeping like a . . .

baby!

While Kent was at the auction the boys and I hung around the motel. It was behind a shopping center so we visited the pet store and walked to the toy story for a ball. We kept leaving so that the maid could leave more towels. Finally Ben couldn't wait anymore and had to have a nap. While he napped the older boys watched TV. I think they have missed having cartoons at our disposal. LOL

The disadvantage to sleeping in a chair is what it can do to your hair.

Poor Ben! Wake up and have Mommy take embarrassing pictures to post for the whole world to see. Hopefully he won't be scarred for life.

Turning the Car seat around

Kent needed to attend an auction in Atlanta so the boys and I went with him. Madisyn wanted to stay home and take care of Papaw after his recent back surgery.
Until now, Ben has remained in the rear facing position in the van. He can see Madisyn from his seat and she does an excellent job cheering him up when he gets fussy. If you remember, Madisyn didn't come. So about 6 hours into the trip Ben had enough. He kept trying to turn his head and join the boys in their movie. So we stopped at a gas station and turned the seat around. He really enjoyed Hunchback of Notre Dame. About 10 minutes into in, he was out.

A little evidence of the old saying "Many hands make light work".

Happy Birthday, Mamaw

Kent's grandmother on the Witcher side recently celebrated a birthday. We attended a surprise party for her in Cabot.

We ended up with a couple of balloons after the party. The next morning Madisyn snapped this picture of Ty "acting like Daddy".

Fall Fun at the Park

While at the park we also took some fall pictures.

Happy Birthday, Mimi!

Mimi's birthday is the 8th so we went to Bald Knob and met her for lunch. We were also joined by Aunt Kristen, Aunt Robin and Raegen. We went to lunch at McAllister's. It's fairly new in Searcy and boy was it busy.

After lunch we drove out to Riverside park and had some fun in the leaves.

I even managed to capture a little on video.

An American Duty

Per Witcher family tradition, we all gathered at Kelley's Restaurant to await the election results. Papaw is running for his 3rd term as county judge. Of course, Kent and I were in charge of entertainment - that's why we had kids!

I think everyone there had a good time watching Ben walk. He toddled around the entire room. If you happened to be near him when he needed a little assistance, your leg was fair game.

It's my party

and I'll be a ham if I want to.

Anyone that knows Ty, knows that he doesn't care for picture time. Imagine our shock when he started posing with each of his birthday gifts.

If you know Ty you will also know that John Deere anything reigns supreme. He requested the same cake he had last year. Since you can't have a tractor cake (or will want one) forever, I figured why not!
