Fly on the Wall

This morning Griffin was doing his school work. We're working on the days of the week and using a calendar. I asked him if yesterday was Wednesday, what is today? He replied "Tomorrow."

Going to the Chapel

Here comes the bride . . .

Mark opened the ceremony with a thank you and prayer. Hannah's grandfather performed the ceremony.

Our boys kept the squirming to a minimum at this moment. ;)

Uncle Kirk was supposed to keep his suit on so I could get a picture of him with the kids but he forgot. I know it's probably the last time he'll put one on so I hate that I missed out.

Hannah's mom made both the cakes and I thought the groom's cake was adorable!

This was before the two hours of pictures after the wedding - they were still smiling. LOL

The Mother and Father of the Groom.

I started out taking a few pictures of the wedding party with the rest of the photographers. I soon realized that none of the picture were done beforehand so I jumped ship. I didn't want to drag it out anymore because I was in the way.

Sister Newsom travelled down from Missouri where her daughter lives. She is waiting for a house in Bentonville to become available. It was the first time we had seen her since she moved.

There were two little boys (who shall remain nameless) who were looking forward to the rice throwing just a little too much.

Henry was a perfect angel the whole time. I tied him up in my wrap and I think he slept throught the entire ceremony. He was a great wedding guest and traveller.

There was a slight incident during the rice throwing. Griffin was standing near Mr. Mark when Scott and Hannah came out. Mark had a handful of rice and went to throw it underhand in front of him. About that time Griffin moved over and Mark's had caught him on the back of the head. Griffin went tumbling down. I think it took him awhile to believe that it was really an accident. :)

Scott's Rehearsal

As I mentioned before we travelled to Fayetteville to attend "Uncle" Scott's wedding. Scott is Uncle Kirk's best friend and when we lived behind the church and Madisyn and Ty were little, he spent a lot of time at our house. All four kids call him Uncle Scott. The whole Osgatharp family feels like a set of relatives. :)

I'm not sure what the kids were raising their hands about. I'm sure it wasn't who wants to go to bed early tonight! LOL

Kirk and some of the other groomsmen.

Mark, Scott and another one of the groomsmen.

The boys ate an undetermined number of cheesecake squares. They ate lots of snacks on the way to Fayetteville, a "junky" supper of Mac and Cheese, more snacks from the hotel and then lasgana, brisket and about 50 pounds of cheesecake at the rehearsal dinner. Self control is not one of Ty's strong points. When we got back to the hotel, Ty kept complaining of an upset stomach (I wonder why?). At midnight, he got sick and destroyed the bathroom. At 2:00 he "decorated" the room. The smell was horrible, we felt so bad for the maid that was going to clean our room. All the towels and the boys bed was not plesant.

Madisyn ate a more moderate amount of junk ;) .

It's not the best picture of Nana but Kent took it and it's the best one I have. I'll have to work on that in the future. :D

The Mother and Aunt of the Groom. Mark and Janet did a great job preparing the rehearsal dinner, they made everything!

The beautiful Bride and her Daddy.

Kent and I have a picture of use kneeling for prayer during our wedding and it's one of my favorite pictures.

Fly on the Wall

A few weeks ago Ty went home with Mr. Mark and Mrs. Janet on a Sunday afternoon. He spent the afternoon with them and rode to church with them that evening. On the way out the door, Ty asked if he could have a sucker. Mr. Mark told him sure and to grab a couple for Madisyn and Griffin. As he rode in the back of the van, he finished his sucker. In a little bit, he said "Mr. Mark, I don't know if we should have put these back here. You better take them." He then gave Mr. Mark the suckers. LOL I'm proud that he realized he was too tempted to eat them to keep them in his control.

Road Trip!

We recently made our first road trip as a family of 7! A good friend, Scott, abandoned us . . .err I mean he left to go to school in Fayetteville a few years ago. Lucky for him (not so much for us) he met a great girl and they recently got married and plan to live near Fayetteville (the part that's bad for us). Although it was about a 5 hour drive and would require an overnight stay we loaded up the van and I do mean LOADED and headed that way. Anyone who believes in travelling light does not have 5 children. We had to have backup wedding outfits plus more comfortable travelling clothes. We also took Henry's moses basket and the pack and play to provide a place for Ben to sleep. Add in most of the cloth diapers we own and the "trunk" of the van was stacked!
Kent's parents also went so on the way there the 3 oldest kids rode with them. I had offered to cook the kids breakfast but they didn't want anything. As soon as the got in the truck with Nana and Papaw, they were starving. We made it about 30 minutes from home before stopping to eat breakfast in Bald Knob.
I didn't get any more pictures of the trip but it was great. Ben was really good and didn't get to be too difficult until the end. Henry had to be nursed once but was a great traveller.
