Homeschool Day at the Capitol

 Last week we participated in the Education Alliance's Homeschool Day at the Capitol. We joined over 750 fellow homeschoolers at the Capitol building in Little Rock. Part of those homeschoolers we joined were our good friends, the Mashburns, and some new friends, the Tims. We had a great day.

 After registering and dropping off goodies for our State Senator and Representative, we headed for a tour. The stained glass version of the state seal was interesting to some little girls.

 Part of the tour included visiting the State House and State Senate galleries. Ty had a front row seat and participated well in the discussion by our guide.

 

 The Governor's reception room was beautiful. You know you have more that the average number of children when discussion at lunch turns to how much all three families would love to have the conference table for a dining table!

 We ended our time on at the Capitol complex with a visit to the beautiful golden doors. The doors are made of bronze. The have greatly appreciated in value so much the the public is not allowed to enter or exit through those doors. Griffin was a bit dramatic. It was a chilly, wet day but it wasn't near as cold as he likes to act.

9 Months Old!

 

You weigh 15 lbs 9 oz.

You are 26.5 inches long.

You wear clothing that ranges from 3-6 month to 9 month.

You sit up extremely well. In fact, we came in and found you sitting in the crib one day after nap.

You get on all fours and rock. You can scoot backwards but haven't figured out forward motion.

Your hair seems to be quite curly. By the end of the day you have rubbed most of the curl straight but you have body.

Your eyebrows and eyelashes are still very red. Your hair color is a frequent topic of conversation.

You are always smiling and almost never cry.

You had your first ear infection and it was a doozy.

You had a reaction to Amoxicillin but we aren't sure that it's a true allergy.

You sleep 11 - 12 hours at night. Then you take a 2 hour morning nap, most mornings. In the afternoon you sleep for another 2-3 hours.

Your brothers and sisters beg to hold you all the time.

You enjoy hanging out in your megasaucer while we do school.

SIX Months Old!

 You weigh 15 lbs 3.5 oz.

You are 26.5 inches long.

You wear clothing from 3-6 months through 6-12 months. We like dresses a little longer and you have long arms.

You wear a size 2 disposable diaper and a small cloth diaper cover.

 You can almost sit up, just a little wobbliness left.

You have been rolling over from belly to back for a couple of months and get very made when you find yourself stuck on your back.

You push back with your arms while on your belly and can scoot across the floor.

You also arch your back and push with you legs and can scoot on your back.

 You helped Ty turn 10.

You make your first trip to the zoo this week.

You had a rough week and your sleeping was interrupted but you are back to sleeping 10 hours straight.

You still sleep in Mommy and Daddy's room in the mini crib.

 What a busy month you've had!

You helped Ben, Daddy and Mommy celebrate birthdays.

You attended Uncle Kirk's wedding where you gained a new Aunt and two cousins.

You weigh 13 lbs 8 oz.

You are 24.5 inches long.

You wear 0-3 month clothes.

You are between shoe sizes so you frequently go without.

You are almost always smiling.

Your hair seems to have some curl to it and the nickname "Red" may have been used a few times.

You sleep 11+ hours each night.
